Pakistan'S Footwear Exports Increased In The Third Quarter.

According to leatherbiz recently, the export volume of Pakistan leather goods in the third quarter decreased by 3.1% compared with the same period last year, but the export volume of footwear increased by 19.2% over the same period last year.

In the third quarter, the tanneries sold 6 million 700 thousand square meters of finished leather, valued at $161 million 300 thousand, and exports decreased by 26% compared with the same period last year. The export volume decreased by 4.3% over the same period last year.

The company exported 4 million 100 thousand pairs of leather shoes and made a total of $43 million 500 thousand.

A year-on-year decline of 14.6%, but exports increased by 19.2%.

The reason for the increase in footwear exports is that the price of finished leather from Pakistan leather producers has increased from US $18.5 per square metre to US $24 this year, so that the export price of footwear has increased from last year's US $7.60 to US $10.60 per pair.

A leather product manufacturer from India and Bangladesh signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in November 27th. The two sides reached an agreement on deepening mutual cooperation, encouraging joint ventures and finding opportunities for mutual investment.

The agreement was signed by the Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers Association (IFCOMA) and Bangladesh leather and footwear manufacturers and Exporters Association (Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association Exporters) last week at the leather exhibition held at the state Kaban National Convention and Exhibition Center in India.

The India High Commissioner's office in Dhaka said in a statement that the reciprocal agreement reached could provide more opportunities for interaction between the two countries' associations, and enhance information exchange between the two sides, laying the foundation for healthy and good business contacts between the two countries' associations.

The India footwear materials manufacturers association has been in contact with Bangladesh footwear manufacturers since 2001, and the interaction between the two countries has been uninterrupted, the statement said.

The reciprocal agreement will also strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
