"Splendid China, Top of the Forbidden City - Traditional Weaving, Dyeing and Embroidery Art and Life Exhibition" was unveiled in Beijing Jingshan Park on the 14th. The exhibition gathers a number of palace weaving and embroidery art projects, shows the treasures of traditional culture, and highlights the long-standing cultural heritage of the Chinese nation.

The exhibition is divided into two parts: "Splendid Embroidery - Embroidery Skills" and "Tiansun Brocade - Weaving Skills".

In terms of presentation form, the exhibition takes the unique "liveliness" characteristics of intangible cultural heritage as the anchor point, and displays textile, dyeing, weaving and embroidery intangible cultural heritage projects related to the cultural space on the central axis, such as Suzhou embroidery, Beijing embroidery, Kesi, Song brocade, Yunjin, etc., through exhibition, exhibition, performance and other means, to tell the special historical background of their "embroidery and embroidery work together and serve the court".

In terms of space design, light wooden frames are used in the courtyard space, and the outer layer is wrapped with fabric to make a space "screen" of layers; The interior also draws on the unique role of "screen" to make a mask in front of the showcase. The central part of the room is hung with an arc tapestry, echoing the undulating roof of the ancient building, which shows the winding mountains and rivers of Chinese geography through design.

In terms of curatorial ideas, it attempts to present a paradigm of intangible cultural heritage into daily life, and through modern display techniques and innovative ideas, it enables more people to understand, pay attention to and inherit traditional culture. The interactive and participatory exhibition mode enables these textile, dyeing, weaving and embroidery intangible cultural heritage projects to have "close" contact with the audience.

The exhibition also links the cultural genes and life aesthetics of different cities, combines the works of many artists and designers, combines the aesthetic spirit contained in the traditional weaving, dyeing and embroidery techniques with the contemporary aesthetics, promotes the participation of design forces, explores a value beyond "time", and links tradition with the present. By excavating the traditional aesthetics, we can activate its vitality, endow it with new energy, and constantly explore the field suitable for the current consumption context and the survival and reproduction of traditional culture. This attempt aims to attract young people to participate.

Shen Huaju, associate professor of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology and project director of "Splendid China: Traditional Weaving, Dyeing, Embroidery Art and Life Exhibition", introduced that as a 2022 National Art Fund communication, exchange and promotion funding project, "Splendid China" series of activities have been exhibited in Suzhou, Guangzhou, Haikou, Beijing, Xining and other places. This station is located in Jingshan Park, helping the central axis apply for the World Heritage with its cultural connotation, and interpreting the transformation and application of traditional weaving, dyeing and embroidery techniques in modern life.

It is reported that the exhibition in Beijing Jingshan Park will last until October. In addition to static display, during the exhibition, the audience will experience the "living" intangible cultural heritage in the form of cultural space, opera, music, dance, quyi and other related performances.
